Celebrating excellence in research
Distinguished Researcher of the Year
Recognises an outstanding senior researcher with a sustained record of excellence in applied health research, leadership, collaboration, mentorship and impact on health outcomes, including contributions to equity, prevention, translation and improved models of care.
Early Career Researcher of the Year
Recognises an early career researcher who has shown excellence, initiative and promise in applied health research, with evidence of emerging impact, collaboration and contribution to the Institute’s mission.
Research Impact and Translation Award
Recognises research that has moved beyond discovery to influence policy, practice, clinical care, community outcomes or health system improvement.
Community and Partnership Research Award
Recognises research developed or delivered in genuine partnership with consumers, communities, clinicians, health services, universities, industry, government or other partners.
Research Team Award
Recognises an outstanding multidisciplinary research team that has demonstrated excellence in collaboration, innovation and research achievement, delivering meaningful impact through collective effort. The award acknowledges teams that have advanced knowledge, improved health outcomes, strengthened partnerships, and fostered a positive and inclusive research culture.
Mid-Career Researcher of the Year
Recognises a mid-career researcher who has demonstrated strong research productivity, leadership potential, collaboration and growing impact in applied health research, including work that improves prevention, access, equity or care delivery.
Higher Degree Research Student of the Year
Recognises an outstanding PhD, Masters or other higher degree research student who has demonstrated excellence in research, initiative, perseverance and contribution to the research community.
Equity in Health Research Award
Recognises research that addresses health inequities, improves access, strengthens culturally responsive care, or responds to the needs of underserved communities in South Western Sydney and beyond.
Research Support and Enabling Excellence Award
Recognises an individual or team whose work in research support, platforms, operations, governance, data, trials, ethics, grants or infrastructure has enabled high-quality research and researcher success.
Research Excellence in Clinical and Applied Health Research Award
Recognises high-quality clinical, health services, implementation, prevention or translational research that has the potential to improve patient outcomes, service delivery or population health.
