The inaugural Research Excellence Awards will be taking place at the 2026 Health Beyond Research & Innovation Showcase, jointly presented by South Western Sydney Local Health District and the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research.
These awards celebrate excellence in research, collaboration and impact across our research community. They recognise the outstanding contributions of all those involved in research, from researchers to students, clinicians and support staff and partners.

Research Awards nominations deadline has been extended by one week, and will now close 5pm, Wednesday 22 July and are open for the following categories:
- Distinguished Researcher of the Year
- Mid-Career Researcher of the Year
- Early Career Researcher of the Year
- Higher Degree Research Student of the Year
- Research Impact and Translation
- Equity in Health Research
- Community and Partnership Research Award
- Research Excellence in Clinical and Applied Health Research
- Research Support and Enabling Excellence Award
- Research Team
Eligibility Criteria:
Nominations are open to current employees of South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), as well as current employees, researchers, affiliates and students of the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research (IIAMR). Both peer nominations and self-nominations are welcomed.
Nominations Close: 5:00pm, 22 July.
