Professor Cathie Sherrington is Conjoint Professor of Allied Health, South Western Sydney Local Health District (University of Sydney), and Deputy Director, Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, Sydney Local Health District. Prof Sherrington has a SciVal rank of first in the world for the falls prevention. Professor Sherrington has authored 425 refereed journal articles including reports of 56 randomised trials and 76 systematic reviews and has an h-index of 106. Professor Sherrington has been awarded over $38 million in NHMRC and MRFF grants and fellowships. Professor Sherrington is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and the Australian College of Physiotherapists. Professor Sherrington was awarded a 2023 NSW Premiers Prize for Science (Biomedical) and holds an NHMRC Investigator Grant (Leadership 3). Professor Sherrington completed her PhD while working as a physiotherapist in the aged care and rehabilitation service at Bankstown- Lidcombe Hospital.
