Professor Josephine Chow

Professor Josephine Chow is the Inaugural Chair of the South Western Sydney Nursing and Midwifery Research Alliance at SWSLHD and the Ingham Institute, and Deputy Director of Research at SWSLHD. She has held several foundational leadership roles, including Director of Strategy and Partnerships and Inaugural Executive Director of Operations for SPHERE. A trailblazer in digital health and artificial intelligence, Professor Chow has led ground-breaking transformative projects that integrate technology into clinical practice, workforce development, and patient care. Her work has shaped health policy and driven innovation through strategic partnerships across academia, industry, and government. She was named NSW Health Staff Member of the Year (2023), Finalist for the Federal Health Minister’s Nursing Trailblazer Award (2022), and the Winston Churchill Fellow. Professor Chow founded and chairs The HOME Network Australasia, supervises over 20 PhD students, and has published more than 250 papers, advancing evidence-based care and digital innovation across the health system.
