Professor Friedbert Kohler has been involved in establishing rehabilitation and community aged care services in SWSLHD since working the early 1990s and was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in recognition of his longstanding, dedicated contributions.
He is the Clinical Director for Aged Care and Rehabilitation for SWSLHD, a conjoint Professor at the South-Western Sydney Clinical School of the University of NSW, and the Director of Medical Services for HammondCare Health. A significant part of his role is to implementation research and developing services for people with disabilities and older people, with a particular focus on community service development.
