Nele went to university and trained as a paediatrician and neonatologist in Germany, and emigrated to Australia in 2011 to continued her training here. She has, for the last 5 years worked in a senior medical staff position at Liverpool Hospital , and has recently taken over as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICEU) Head of Department. Liverpool NICU is one of the largest NICUs with the highest birthrate in NSW. She is also the lead clinician and facilitator of our long standing and very successful home oxygen program for NICU graduate with Bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD). She was recently awarded my PhD through University of Sydney with Prof. Dominic Fitzgerald as her supervisor.
